What is Cohort?
Cohort is a group-first student housing platform. You build a roommate group, set shared preferences, and discover housing that fits the whole group. Leases are signed directly with properties.
Does Cohort cost anything for students?
Creating a Cohort, inviting roommates, and browsing housing is free for students.
My friends and I already have a group. What do we do?
One of you starts the Cohort and shares the invite link or group code. Everyone else opens the link and fills out a shorter form with their own budget and preferences. Don’t start separate groups.
What happens after we sign up?
Someone from the Cohort team reviews your group’s answers and follows up by email with places that fit, then helps you schedule tours. You apply and sign your lease directly with the property.
Can I join if I don’t have roommates yet?
Yes. Start solo, create a roommate profile, and tell us the group size you want. We’ll let you know as roommate matching opens in your market.
Is Cohort a landlord or property manager?
No. Cohort does not own or manage properties and does not guarantee housing, pricing, or availability. We help groups organize and connect with properties.
Which universities are supported?
